Sam wriggled uncomfortably on the ground and curled up in a ball with her head between her knees.
Jack looked at his watch. “Daniel should be done with the natives any time now.”
He squeezed her shoulder, trying to reassure her as Teal’c covered her with a warm blanket. “Hang on, we’ll get you home soon.”
Her answer was a heart-wrenching sob that shook her whole body. The pain rose in violent waves from her abdomen and spiraled up her back, squeezing her insides in a death grip.
She was three days early and didn’t even have a sanitary pad.

She hadn’t seen it coming. They came out of nowhere, a dozen of them. Armed. They gave and high-pitched war cry as they attacked her, jumping to get to her face. She ducked with a startled gasp, but it only resulted in one of them – a female– clinging on to her shoulders and pulling at her hair. Another one kicked her leg, and she felt sharp teeth digging in the flesh of her arm.
“Sir!”

“This is the last time I come with you picking Hammond’s nieces up from kindergarten.”
