I decided to start with my favorite pictures of the trip, the ones featuring animals. Holland, Germany and Switzerland are much greener countries than Italy and it's not difficult to spot beautiful animals, even near the cities. Some of the wild ones we saw from the bus, so I couldn't take a picture of those, and the same goes for the hundreds of cows and horses that inhabit the lands' pastures.
A list of the animals I saw (I'm still trying to place a couple of the birds I saw, though, maybe one or more of you can give me a hand by looking at the pics?)
- A stork
- Hawks
- An eagle
- A doe
- A gray heron*
- Horses / Ponies
- Cows
- Goats*
- Sheep*
- A cock*
- Hens
- Ducks*
- Coots*
- Sparrows*
- Swans*
- Throstles*
- Bunnies and hares*
- Seagulls*
* = animals I have taken pictures of

I actually saw this peacock at the restaurant I went to a few months ago, but I never posted this pic and this is the right time to do so.

A coot swimming in one of Strasbourg's canals

This swan has built her nest right on someone's doorsteps!! (Strasbourg)

A duck (probably looking for some food) in the village of Zaanse Schans (Holland)

A swan (Zaanse Schans)

Grazing sheep. Apparently, they were camera shy, because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't include their muzzles in the pictures. (Zaanse Schans)

A large cock walking around the streets of Zaanse Schans. He mostly kept to himself, but wasn't scared of humans unless they looked too interested in him.

A close up of an attention-seeking goat. She would do just about anything for a chunk of bread and a scratch behind the ears. (Zaanse Schans)

The same cock from before. I was sitting on the front steps of a shop, waiting for my mom and aunt to come out, and he came there looking for two black hens that had strayed and were lazing around sitting on a bench just outside the shop (I have a pic of those, too, but it's terribly blurred). He was very close to me, and I took this pic from the privileged position.

A bunny!!! This is the best picture I could take, he was very shy and would run away if someone tried to get closer. (Zaanse Schans) Gardens near Bruxelles and Amsterdam are full of bunnies and hares. You just had to look outside the bus window to see them hopping around!

Seagulls over the Northern Sea, pic taken from the Great Dam.

A gray heron in the left of the picture. The pic kind of sucks, but we couldn't get any closer. (Marken, Holland)

A throstle in Vollendam (Holland)

Another throstle with a non-identified bird (Vollendam)

All the birds in line waiting for some crumbs. We were sitting on a bench next to a stand that sold seafood (which was cheap, fresh and *delicious*) and this flock stuck around to see if we were going to give them something. (Vollendam)

A sparrow and a throstle.

Can I has food, too? I'm closing with this picture because it's my favorite. This little guy is just so cute and adorable!! I might have to icon it. I don't know what species it is, though.
Well, hope you enjoyed the animals. City pictures will be coming in the next days!!
