JP!love icons
Apr. 24th, 2008 02:42 pmI was feeling nostalgic yesterday night and made a few Jurassic Park icons. Ellie Sattler was my first girlcrush at 7 and she deserves a place among my userpics. And the dinos are just cool.

Date: 2008-04-24 11:09 pm (UTC)Well the movie will always hold a special place in my heart because the JP movies helped me gain equal rights with my brothers.
When it first came out I really wanted to see it but dad took my brothers and purposefully left me home. His real reasoning was it'd be too scary for a girl, though he said it was because I was "Too young". I saw right through that as he took The Brother who is only ONE year older than I am. Sorry but the age excuse dont float with me when he can go.
I kicked up such an angry fuss over how unfair it was, especially since both brothers didn't care about seeing it. I renewed ranting about it when I finally saw it (Christmas morning) when we bought it on tape. So when the second movie came out I told my dad, if I got scared and pee'd my pants (as he believed I would) then I'd never fight him again but if I didn't I was to be treated equally as my brothers. Be one of the guys as it were. Naturally I proved I could take it and dad has never since excluded me for being a girl. :D
