Oh, thanks!! I've never actually been to such a place, but I like writing descriptions a lot and took the chance this fic provided to practice a little. I put together several arabic-style elements I'd seen at different times. I'm glad it worked :)
I'm also relieved that you didn't mind Simon. I wrote two ficathon stories in the past few weeks and both ended up angstier that I had planned. I have to admit though, that I didn't remember about Simon until later in the story, too.
