“The bruise will be there for a few days, you’d better put some ointment on it.” Carson ran the pads of his fingers down both sides of Elizabeth’s neck, checking for bumps or anomalous swelling.

“You look okay.” The doctor mumbled.

“That’s because I am okay, Carson.” She sounded impatient, but she still cocked her head when his fingers urged her to.

“Any coughing?”

“No.” She sighed, reaching up to take both his hands in hers. “Stop worrying.”

"I’d feel better if I could keep en eye on you tonight, just…”

She shushed him with a soft kiss to his lips. “You win. Your quarters or mine?”
